This increased enthusiasm for marble means that clients everywhere are asking 3D freelancers to cover their kitchens and high-end bathrooms in the stuff.
But large high-quality textures of stone is surprisingly difficult to find. In 2018 we released a procedural collection, but we always knew that the chaotic intricacies of marble would benefit from a photoscanning approach.
So we got permission from one of the largest stone distributors in the US to scan their inventory. Here’s a quick video shot on location:
Over 4 days our crew shot dozens of slabs. Which were then processed internally to the highest standards, producing 8K, color calibrated, correct scale textures.
We’ve just published the first batch of 72 marble, quartz, quartzite and granite slabs. Perfect for countertops, backsplashes and veneers.
